APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

All applications must comply with the “Directions to Applicants” and include the following documents:

  • A fully completed application for employment form (New Z83), which is obtainable at www.dpsa.gov.za, starting from 1 January 2021. Be sure to indicate the correct post number and job title.
  • A comprehensive CV that includes detailed employment history, including job titles, duties performed, employment start and end dates (dd/mm/yy), and exit reasons. The CV must also include contact details for at least two recent employment references.
  • Additional documents required upon shortlisting:
    • A copy of your ID document.
    • Relevant educational qualifications or RPL certificates, as well as academic transcripts for completed qualifications.
    • A valid driver’s license and PDP (if specified as a job requirement).
    • Latest salary advice indicating current earnings.
    • For applicants with foreign qualifications, SAQA evaluation results must be submitted by the specified date.
    • All shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews, tests, and employment suitability checks, which may include credit, criminal, citizenship, qualifications, and employment references checks.

Note: Preference may be given to locally based candidates for entry-level positions due to affordability, as well as to unemployed youth and the Department’s Interns and Learners who have completed their skills development programs. POST 11/26: Senior Legal Administration Officer (MR-6) (X2 Posts)
Directorate: Contracts
Salary: R556,356 – R1,314,666 per annum (MR 6), in accordance with the OSD determination for legally qualified personnel.
Centre: Head Office, Tshwane

Requirements:

  • An LLB degree at NQF Level 7, recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification legal experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in drafting commercial contracts (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of the Constitution of South Africa, Public Finance Management Act, relevant public service legislation, and governance frameworks.
  • Proficient in legal writing, drafting contracts, and providing legal opinions.

Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Contracts Directorate.
  • Draft and review commercial contracts and service level agreements.
  • Offer legal advice and opinions related to commercial contracts.
  • Conduct research to improve the contract drafting process.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance.
  • Manage resources effectively within the unit and guide staff on legal compliance.

Salary: R552,081 – R650,322 per annum (Level 10)
Centre: Various Local Offices across Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, and Western Cape

Requirements:

  • A qualification in Public Management, Administration, or Social Sciences at NQF Level 6, recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a Civic Services environment.
  • Knowledge of operations management, project optimization, and online systems.
  • Understanding of the Immigration Act, public service legislative frameworks, and Government Structures.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours.

Duties:

  • Manage and monitor the operations of the Local Office, ensuring alignment with agreed service delivery standards.
  • Provide guidance and advice on the operations of civic services such as citizenship, births, deaths, marriages, and travel documents.
  • Ensure compliance with the Immigration Act and other relevant regulations.
  • Foster partnerships with stakeholders and represent the office in various forums.
  • Implement strategic goals such as digital transformation and case management solutions.
  • Oversee human, financial, and physical resource management at the Local Office.
